Thanks, David. I am also a MOOCs junky. During my all-I-got-was-a-part-time-job days last year, I trained myself in social psychology through basically every MOOCs on the topic. In addition to the theoretical stuff about neurons and how emotions are made, the key thing I learned was how to see things the way they were by suppressing my biases — it’s a key to a good life. I wouldn’t say my life is that great, but it’s much better than it was when I was not perceriving conditions and stimuli (AKA things) clearly. I think what this post has taught me is that you can choose to re-skill: The decision is entirely in our hands. The process, the consequence, the good stuff we can respond to positively, will unfold.
